Health New England reviews its products each year to ensure we are offering relevant health plans to our employer groups, remaining competitive in the marketplace, and meeting the requirements for plans in the small group market. As such, we are writing to let you know we will be closing a selection of small group plans upon 2016 renewal because these plans no longer meet the actuarial value required by the Affordable Care Act.

For each of the six small group plans we are closing, we have identified a rollover plan that is closest to it in terms of benefits. Beginning at the end of September, we will be mailing letters to affected employer groups to inform them of their options. If no action is taken in response to the letter, the group’s plan will automatically map over to the identified rollover plan upon renewal. Members will also receive a letter letting them know that their existing plan will no longer be available.

Copies of the notification letters going out to affected employer groups and members will be available upon request from your sales representative. We will continue to send notification letters monthly to affected groups and members.
